Doug has been involved in sports media in Montgomery for over three decades, having started his career in 1984 as a sportswriter for the Montgomery Advertiser, covering major college athletics.

After nine years as a print journalist, Amos began his broadcasting career in 1993, co-hosting a sports radio talk show in central Alabama. In 1995, he and his co-host were awarded the Associated Press top broadcasting award for the state of Alabama. He spent 20 years as the play-by-play voice for Faulkner University athletics. In addition to hosting the MAX Round Table each weekday, Doug serves the Troy Sports Radio Network as its studio host for football and as a play-by-play voice for men’s basketball radio broadcasts and women’s basketball ESPN+ broadcasts.

He and his wife, Karla, have a daughter – Reyn.

The MAX Round Table

The MAX Roundtable airs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each weekday, and is hosted by Doug Amos, Charlie Trotman and Darrell Dapprich. Charlie serves as Doug’s co-host on Mondays and Fridays, with Darrell joining him on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The trio conducts in-depth interviews, enjoys spirited discussion and debate on the sports topics of the day, all the while staying invested in the River Region community. Giving back to the community is one of the main reasons many local businesses choose to partner with the show in their advertising efforts.

The Paul Finebaum Show

The SEC NETWORK’s Paul Finebaum hosts his show from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and also joins the MAX Roundtable guys for guest appearances multiple times each month. Paul touches bases through the southeast, with great guests and intriguing commentary. And his lineup of callers from all over the country are sure to entertain.

Wildcat Review

Granger Shook is alongside Doug Amos each Wednesday at 6 p.m. for Wildcat Review, as the first-year head coach takes us inside Trinity football for a behind-the-scenes look at the program. The two will discuss team performance and player development in a positive light, as the Wildcats once again look to challenge for championships.

The Pigg Enterprises Scoreboard Show

Doug Amos and Darrell Dapprich host this two-hour high school football scoreboard show each Friday night during the season. The show airs from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., with the two getting game reports from around the River Region and beyond. In addition, the hosts take phone calls and, will always have a positive spiritual message at “halftime’ of the program.
